Dasha Bushinskya

My current role within respected artist Dashi Namdakov’s Art Foundation in Moscow combines strategic planning and Director of Development. I came on NAFS to secure funds for two important initiatives: opening a gallery Moscow and launching an award for young talented Russian sculptors.

Although I studied in London and worked at the Barbican I knew relatively little about fundraising. The NAFS team reassured me before I came that I could apply most of the learning to Russia. (And the team already had experience in my country.) I really valued the chance to practice relevant techniques such as asking for support face-to-face with high value supporters. The practice came in really useful — see above for the result!
